Supreme Court of Florida
In Re: Code for Resolving Professionalism Referrals and Amendments to Rule Regulating the Florida Bar 6-10.3
July 6, 2023367 So. 3d 1184
Summary
The court adopted a new Code for Resolving Professionalism Referrals, revised the Professionalism Expectations, and amended the continuing legal education rule. The new code creates an informal, peer-to-peer process through independent local professionalism panels while preserving the separate formal disciplinary process. The court also required a two-hour Bar-produced professionalism course, reduced the total CLE requirement to 30 hours, and removed bias elimination from the specified five-hour sub-requirement. The amendments to the code and Professionalism Expectations took effect immediately, while the CLE amendments take effect January 8, 2024.
