February 18, 2021
Summary
The Supreme Court of Florida adopted proposed amendments to the Florida Probate Rules in response to legislation enacted after the 2020 legislative session. The amendments create a small-estate procedure for distributing certain intestate personal property without administration, revise notice and guardianship-petition requirements, establish expedited procedures for certain medical-treatment petitions, and renumber a rule. The amendments took effect immediately, subject to a later period for public comment.
