Summary
The Supreme Court of Florida amended the bar-admissions rules to remove juvenile delinquency and dependency from the possible subjects tested on Part A of the General Bar Examination. The Court concluded that these subjects test specialized knowledge outside the examination’s intended focus on general legal competency and that their removal would permit greater emphasis on analysis of core legal subjects. The amendments took effect immediately, applied prospectively beginning with the first 2020 examination, and were opened to post-adoption public comment.
