Summary

The Court amended and authorized for immediate publication and use revised Florida capital-case jury instructions implementing unanimity requirements for aggravating factors, the sufficiency of aggravation, the weighing of aggravation and mitigation, and the decision to impose death. The amendments revised the verdict form, renumbered and clarified the preliminary instructions, and revised the final penalty-phase instructions. The authorization does not foreclose requests for additional or alternative instructions or challenges to the instructions' legal correctness.
