Supreme Court of Florida
In Re: Amendments to the Florida Supreme Court Approved Family Law Forms - Nomenclature
February 1, 2018235 So. 3d 357
Summary
The court conducted an internal review of the Florida Supreme Court Approved Family Law Forms and adopted amendments responding to constitutional, statutory, and rule changes. The amendments replace gendered terminology with gender-neutral language, harmonize and clarify the forms, update them to reflect recent legal changes, add parental-consent language for mental-health treatment, and create two new forms. The amended forms became effective immediately and were published for public comment, while the court expressly stated that adoption of the forms expressed no opinion about their correctness or applicability.
