Summary
The Supreme Court of Florida authorized the Committee on Standard Jury Instructions to amend civil jury instruction 502.2 to clarify that survivors’ pain and suffering damages are measured from the date of the injury, and to amend instruction 601.2 to state that it is proper for a lawyer to talk to a witness about the testimony the witness would give and that such communication should not discredit the witness. The Court expressed no opinion on the correctness of the proposed instructions and cautioned that the authorization does not foreclose further comment or alternative instructions.
