In Re: Amendments to the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration, Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.010, and…

September 7, 201742 Fla. L. Weekly Supp. 797

Summary

The court declined to adopt proposed amendments to several judicial-administration, criminal, appellate, and juvenile procedure rules governing attorney classifications, appearances, limited representation, signatures, and service. It concluded that the proposals needed more individualized treatment by practice area, clearer procedures for cases involving both lead and limited-representation counsel, and additional consultation with court-technology and clerks’ organizations. Justice Lawson, specially concurring, proposed an additional-special-counsel designation as a narrower way to address those concerns.
