Supreme Court of Florida
In Re: Amendments to the Code of Judicial Conduct
May 18, 201742 Fla. L. Weekly Supp. 605
Summary
The Court, acting on its own motion, adopted amendments to the Code of Judicial Conduct clarifying judges’ public financial and gift-reporting obligations. It held that Canon 6B reports are the only public disclosures required for judges’ financial interests, compensation, gifts, reimbursements, and other benefits, and clarified the reporting treatment of bar-related events, compensation, and expense payments. The amendments were made effective nunc pro tunc to January 1, 2017, with initial reports due by July 1, 2018.
