In Re: Amendments to the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure
September 1, 201641 Fla. L. Weekly Supp. 357
Summary
The Supreme Court of Florida adopted the Civil Procedure Rules Committee’s regular-cycle amendments to numerous civil procedure rules and forms, including changes concerning pleadings, responsive-pleading deadlines, discovery, jury selection, defaults, summary judgment, and final disposition forms. The Court adopted the proposals after publication for comment and receipt of no comments following republication, with the amendments effective January 1, 2017. The amendments require all parties to be named in captions, move the final disposition form requirement to a new rule, calculate certain response periods from filing of a court order, expand alternate-juror authority, and extend the time to seek juror interviews.
