Summary
The court adopted out-of-cycle amendments to several Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure and a new model form for motions seeking jail credit. The amendments establish a framework for successive sentence-correction motions, revise postconviction and indigency forms, and make related technical changes, effective January 1, 2016. Justice Canady, concurring in part and dissenting in part, would have added an abuse-of-procedure or lack-of-good-cause ground for dismissing successive sentence-correction motions; Justice Polston separately concurred without written analysis.
