Justice Pariente concurred in denying the mandamus petition because the petition was filed too late for effective relief before the constitutionally fixed end of the legislative session. She nevertheless concluded that the House's unilateral adjournment for more than seventy-two consecutive hours violated the Florida Constitution and that denial of the petition should not be understood as approving the House's interpretation. Justice Canady, concurring separately, would also deny relief because the petitioners failed to establish a clear legal right to compel the House's presence.
