The Court retained the post-sentencing plea-withdrawal procedure, added a one-year and successive-motion bar for jail-credit claims, and revised postconviction procedures to promote comprehensive and final resolution of claims. Justice Canady, joined by Chief Justice Polston, would have deleted the post-sentencing plea-withdrawal rule, while Justice Pariente, concurring in part and dissenting in part, objected principally to the jail-credit limitations and urged standard forms and electronic filing.
