Supreme Court of Florida
Vannessa Van Vorgue, Petitioner v. Mara M. Rankin, Respondent
April 1, 201035 Fla. L. Weekly Supp. 192
Summary
The court held that funds placed in escrow by agreement of the parties remain restricted under that agreement and that an order continuing to hold them pending resolution of the parties' claims is not an injunction. Because the lower appellate court improperly applied injunction principles governing unrestricted assets, the court quashed its decision reversing the trial court. The court therefore left undisturbed the trial court's denial of the motion to release half of the escrow funds.
