Wood v. State

Summary

The Court affirmed the denial of Wood's motion to correct an illegal sentence. It held that citation and offense-name errors in the indictment were matters of form because the indictment stated the essential facts supporting the convictions, and it held that the rape-related offenses and continuous sexual abuse of a child were separate offenses for double-jeopardy purposes. The Court also concluded that Wood's sentence was within statutory limits and was not rendered illegal by the absence of stated aggravating factors, deviation from nonbinding sentencing guidelines, alleged false information, or alleged judicial bias.
