Supreme Court of Delaware

Watson v. State

April 14, 2025

Summary

The Court held that the evidence was insufficient to establish beyond a reasonable doubt that Watson concealed the firearm, because the officer never observed the front of Watson’s body before Watson discarded the firearm. It therefore reversed the denial of Watson’s motion for judgment of acquittal on the carrying-a-concealed-deadly-weapon charge. Watson’s challenge to the flight instruction was dismissed as moot because the instruction related only to that reversed conviction.
