Summary

The Court affirmed the denial of Brown’s motion to correct his sentences for possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. It held that Brown’s challenge to the procedure used to impose habitual-offender sentencing was an untimely attack on the manner of sentencing, and that his two-year concealed-deadly-weapon sentence was not illegal because it fell within the authorized statutory range even though the offense was not subject to a minimum-mandatory term. The Court concluded that Brown was not entitled to resentencing without the habitual-offender enhancement.
