Supreme Court of Delaware
Larson v. Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families
October 25, 2022
Summary
The Supreme Court of Delaware affirmed the Family Court’s termination of the Father’s parental rights. It held that the record supported the Family Court’s findings, by clear and convincing evidence, that the Father failed to plan adequately for the Child’s needs, could not promptly assume custody or provide support, reasonable reunification efforts had been made, and termination was in the Child’s best interests. The Court concluded that the appeal was wholly without merit and that counsel had properly sought to withdraw under the applicable procedure.
