Supreme Court of Delaware
Tannis v. Moen
December 10, 2021
Summary
The Supreme Court of Delaware affirmed the Family Court's termination of the Father's parental rights. Although the Family Court gave too little weight to the Father's opposition to termination in its best-interests analysis, the record otherwise supported termination based on unintentional abandonment, failure to plan, and the Child's best interests by clear and convincing evidence. The Court concluded that the appeal was wholly without merit and that appointed counsel properly sought withdrawal.
