The Court affirmed Montgomery’s convictions and aggregate sentence, holding that the police lawfully detained him during a narrowly tailored roadblock and had probable cause to arrest him and search his vehicle and backpack under the automobile exception. The Court also held that Montgomery’s speedy-trial right was not violated because most delay was attributable to the defense, and that the trial court properly denied a new trial because juror misconduct caused neither actual nor presumed prejudice.
