Summary

The Court affirmed Jones's convictions, holding that no plain error undermined the aggravated-menacing, deadly-weapon, or bond-condition convictions. The evidence permitted the jury to find that the screwdriver appeared to be a deadly weapon to the victim, that Jones used it under circumstances supporting an inference of an attempt to cause serious injury or death, and that he was detained on felony charges when he violated his bond conditions. Because Jones did not move for a judgment of acquittal, the Court reviewed the sufficiency claims for plain error.
