Thomas v. State

Summary

The Court affirmed Thomas's convictions for murder and weapons offenses. It held that admitting a detective's lay identification of Thomas in surveillance video was not an abuse of discretion under the circumstances, and in any event the error was harmless because the remaining evidence was sufficient to support the murder conviction. The Court also held that Thomas waived his sufficiency challenge to the concealed-weapon conviction and showed no plain error because the circumstantial evidence supported an inference that the weapon was concealed.
