Summary

The Delaware Supreme Court affirmed the denial of Maurice Land's postconviction motion alleging ineffective assistance based on counsel's failure to seek severance from his codefendants. The court held that severance was not warranted because the codefendants' defenses were not antagonistic, and that Land could not establish prejudice in light of the overwhelming evidence of guilt. The court also rejected, for the same reasons, Land's passing argument that counsel should have moved for a mistrial.
