Supreme Court of Delaware

Campbell v. State

April 6, 2018

Summary

The Court affirmed the denial of Campbell’s motion to suppress evidence seized during a warrantless probationary search of his apartment. Because Campbell did not raise his present challenge below, the Court applied plain-error review and found no material defect in the Superior Court’s understanding of the supervisory approval process. The Court also held that the information available to the probation officer established reasonable suspicion supporting the administrative search.
