Summary

The Supreme Court of Delaware affirmed Jones's convictions and eighteen-year sentence, holding that the State did not commit plain error by recommending the negotiated eight-year sentence while also presenting victim-impact information and aggravating circumstances. The court also held that Jones failed to show actual prejudice because the sentencing judge independently had discretion to impose more than eight years and would have considered much of the same information.
