Rickett v. State

Summary

The Supreme Court of Delaware affirmed Rickett’s conviction for exploiting the resources of an infirm adult in an amount exceeding $5,000. Viewing the evidence in the light most favorable to the State, the Court held that a rational factfinder could find that Bell was unable to provide for her own care and that Rickett used more than $5,000 of her income for his own benefit. The Court rejected Rickett’s challenges to Bell’s infirmity, his use of her funds, and the amount exploited.
