Summary

The Supreme Court of Delaware affirmed Ashley's convictions, holding that the Superior Court properly joined the sexual-offense charges with the witness-related charges because they were connected and the joinder did not create a reasonable probability of substantial prejudice. It also held that the challenged testimony was either nonhearsay and not unduly prejudicial or, alternatively, harmless beyond a reasonable doubt, so denial of a mistrial and curative instruction was proper. Because the individual claims lacked merit, the cumulative-error claim also failed.
