Summary

The Court held that Washington was entitled to a judgment of acquittal because the State's only evidence connecting him to the robbery was uncorroborated accomplice testimony that materially and irreconcilably conflicted with the victim's account. Although credibility conflicts ordinarily belong to the jury, the contradictions here prevented any rational jury from finding guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The judgment was reversed and the matter remanded.
