Supreme Court of Connecticut
R. H. v. M. H. — concurring
August 14, 2024350 Conn. 432
Summary
The concurrence agrees that the trial court's custody and visitation order must be reversed because it improperly allowed the custodial parent to suspend the other parent's visitation indefinitely. It would, however, permit narrowly confined authority to cancel a particular scheduled visit when a demonstrated risk of physical, emotional, or psychological harm requires immediate protection of the child. The concurrence would therefore reject the majority's categorical prohibition on any custodial-parent discretion to suspend visitation. Chief Justice Robinson, joined by Justice Mullins, concurs in the judgment while advocating a narrower rule.
