Summary

This dissent rejects the majority's conclusion that the defendants' appeals from denial of their special motions to dismiss were immediately appealable. It maintains that the anti-SLAPP statute creates no immediate appellate right or immunity from proceeding to trial and that the defendants' denial of making the alleged statements undermined any colorable claim to statutory protection.
