Supreme Court of Connecticut
Adesokan v. Bloomfield
August 1, 2023347 Conn. 416
Summary
The court held that discretionary-act governmental immunity does not bar negligence claims arising from the manner in which a municipal emergency vehicle is operated under the statutory emergency-vehicle privileges. The statutory duty to drive with due regard for the safety of all persons and property falls within the savings clause of the governmental-immunity statute, preserving liability for negligent emergency-vehicle operation. The court therefore reversed the summary judgment entered for the defendants and remanded for further proceedings.
