Summary

The court held that the defendant’s youth-based resentencing claims were properly within the trial court’s subject matter jurisdiction because they plausibly challenged the sentences, but rejected those claims on the merits. The court also held that challenges to the parole eligibility date calculated by the parole board were not proper claims to correct an illegal sentence and instead belonged in a habeas proceeding after exhaustion of administrative remedies. The judgment was affirmed in part and vacated in part to correct the form of the trial court’s dispositions.
