Summary

The court held that the defendant was not entitled to resentencing under the Connecticut constitution for a sentence imposed when he was sixteen without consideration of youth-related mitigating factors. Because subsequent legislation made him eligible for parole after twenty-one years, parole eligibility adequately remedied any state constitutional violation. The court therefore affirmed the Appellate Court’s judgment upholding dismissal of the motion to correct an illegal sentence.
