Supreme Court of Connecticut
In Re Egypt E.
January 10, 2018327 Conn. 506
Summary
The court affirmed termination of the respondents' parental rights as to Egypt under General Statutes § 17a-112 (j) (3) (C). Although that provision requires actual rather than predictive harm, the court held that the respondents' prolonged postremoval failures to acknowledge and address the cause of Mariam's injuries caused Egypt actual emotional and psychological harm before the amended petition's adjudicatory date. McDONALD, J., dissenting, would have reversed because the alleged conduct constituted failure to rehabilitate rather than an act or omission causing harm to Egypt under the statutory ground pleaded.
