Summary
The court held that the plaintiff failed to prove, through competent expert testimony, that sanding the defendant's asbestos-containing adhesive released respirable asbestos fibers in a quantity sufficient to cause mesothelioma. Because that proof was necessary to establish both that the product was unreasonably dangerous and that it caused the decedent's disease, the court reversed the judgment and directed the trial court to set aside the verdict and enter judgment notwithstanding the verdict. No separate opinions were filed.
