Supreme Court of Connecticut
State of Connecticut v. Adam Benedict
December 6, 2016323 Conn. 654
Summary
The court held that a police officer is not automatically disqualified from jury service merely because of that occupation. A principal challenge for cause is required when the defendant proves that the juror's relationship with the investigating authority or a witness is sufficiently close to create likely conscious or unconscious bias, but the defendant failed to establish such a relationship here. The judgment affirming the conviction was therefore affirmed.
