Supreme Court of Connecticut

Maria F. McKeon v. William P. Lennon.

May 17, 2016321 Conn. 323

Summary

The court held that the rule governing modification of alimony orders does not apply to child support orders because child support is based on an income-shares model. A substantial increase in the supporting parent's income, standing alone, may justify modification, and vested restricted stock and exercised stock options awarded after dissolution ordinarily must be included in gross income. The court reversed in part and remanded for findings concerning postdissolution stock compensation, while affirming the exclusion of the employment perquisites.
