Supreme Court of Connecticut

Radzick v. Connecticut Children's Medical Center

June 30, 2015

Summary

The court held that the trial court's order permitting forensic imaging of computers in an ongoing medical malpractice action was not a final judgment and therefore was not immediately appealable. The added protections allowing defendants to redact patient-identifying information meant that the alleged privacy harm was not irreparable, and the order satisfied neither exception to the final judgment rule. The court therefore affirmed the Appellate Court's dismissal of the appeal.
