Summary
The court held that the trial court complied with the statutory requirement to consider and make written findings concerning the children’s emotional ties, including their ties to the respondent and their preadoptive foster family. Any ambiguity in the original decision was properly clarified through ordered articulations, and the statutory factors do not require reversal when the best-interest determination is otherwise factually supported and legally sound. The court therefore reversed the Appellate Court in part and directed it to affirm the trial court’s termination judgments.
