Supreme Court of Connecticut
Carraway v. Commissioner of Correction
July 21, 2015
Summary
The court dismissed the respondent’s certified appeal for lack of subject matter jurisdiction because the respondent was not aggrieved by a judgment he sought to affirm. Although the respondent disputed the lower court’s reasoning and sought clarification of the governing plea-prejudice standard, he could not show that the judgment specially and injuriously affected his legal interests. The court also observed that the earlier prejudice standard had been superseded by subsequent decisions.
