Supreme Court of Connecticut
Brennan v. Brennan Associates
May 5, 2015
Summary
The court held that the plaintiff’s partnership interest had to be valued as of the date his dissociation became effective after the appellate stay ended, rather than when the trial court initially entered the dissociation judgment. It further held that, because the dissociation was wrongful, interest accrued only when each deferred buyout payment became due, and remanded for findings on whether attorney’s fees constituted a partnership liability. The plaintiff’s separate appeal concerning offer-of-compromise interest was dismissed because the buyout value had to be redetermined.
