The court affirmed the denial of the plaintiffs’ request for a temporary injunction and directed judgment for the defendants. It held that the election statutes permitted an endorsed lieutenant governor candidate to form a joint committee with a nonendorsed gubernatorial candidate, allowed qualifying contributions received before formation of the joint committee and dual contributions meeting the lieutenant governor criteria to be counted, and permitted pre-primary contributions and expenditures to trigger supplemental grants. Justice Gruendel, concurring, agreed with the disposition but would have construed the statute to cap each individual’s qualifying contributions at $100.
