Summary

The court held that generalized expert testimony about domestic violence is admissible when it has a sufficient logical connection to the case to assist the jury and survives the balancing requirement for unfair prejudice. The fit need not be perfect, and trial courts may admit all, some, or none of the proposed testimony based on its purpose and connection to the factual issues. Because the trial court properly applied this flexible standard and did not abuse its discretion, the court reversed the court of appeals and remanded for consideration of the remaining prosecutorial-misconduct issue.
