Supreme Court of Colorado

In Re: Colorado Independent Legislative Redistricting Commission

November 15, 2021513 P.3d 352

Summary

The court approved the Colorado Independent Legislative Redistricting Commission's final Senate and House plans. Applying the constitutionally prescribed abuse-of-discretion review, the court concluded that the Commission adequately applied the population equality, contiguity, Voting Rights Act, communities-of-interest, compactness, competitiveness, and anti-discrimination criteria. The court therefore directed the Commission to file the approved plans with the Secretary of State by December 29, 2021.
