Summary

The court held that the Eighth Amendment rules announced in Graham and Miller do not apply to an aggregate term-of-years sentence imposed on a juvenile convicted of multiple offenses. Because those decisions therefore did not invalidate Rainer's 112-year sentence, the court reversed the court of appeals. Justice Gabriel did not participate.
