Summary

The court held that a juror is a "compensated employee of a public law enforcement agency" only if the juror provides services to, is paid by, and is subject to the direction and control of that agency. Because the challenged juror was paid by a private staffing agency and the record did not show that the jail controlled how she performed her work, the trial court properly denied the challenge for cause. The court affirmed and did not reach the proposed remedy for an erroneous denial of a challenge for cause.
