Supreme Court of Arkansas

Lewis Ray v. Wendy Kelley

May 7, 2020598 S.W.3d 837

Summary

The court dismissed Ray’s appeal because the circuit court in which he filed his coram nobis petition lacked jurisdiction over challenges to convictions entered in another county. Because the convictions resulted from guilty pleas and were never appealed, Ray was required to file directly in the trial court where the convictions were entered and did not need appellate permission. The appellate court therefore also lacked jurisdiction to review the circuit court’s order.
