Supreme Court of Arkansas

Matar v. State

October 19, 20172017 Ark. 278

Summary

The court denied Matar's motion for belated appeal from the denial of his postconviction petition because he did not establish good cause for filing his notice of appeal more than thirty days after entry of the order. Although the record did not show that the circuit court promptly mailed the order as required, Matar admitted that he received it before the appeal period expired and then waited more than a month to file his notice.
