The court held that the significant-relationship approach, rather than lex loci contractus, governs the choice of law for the automobile-insurance policy because the policy lacked an effective choice-of-law provision. Applying that approach, the court determined that Texas had the most significant relationship to the policy and accident because the insureds, insured vehicle, and policy performance were located there when the accident occurred. The court therefore reversed the summary judgment for the insurer and remanded, while vacating the court of appeals’ decision.
