Summary

The court held that communications to third parties may be “directed at” a victim for purposes of harassment when they target the victim and are designed to provoke an adverse consequence against that person. Applying that rule, the court concluded that the trial court did not abuse its discretion in finding that Loarca’s communications were intended to cause Hernandez trouble at work. The court vacated the court of appeals’ decision and remanded for consideration of issues that court had not reached.
