Supreme Court of Alabama
Alabama Psychiatric Services, P.c., and Managed Health Care Administration, Inc. v. a Center for Eating Disorders…
January 24, 20142014 Ala. LEXIS 9
Summary
The court held that ACED failed to present substantial evidence that APS or MHCA intentionally interfered with its business relationships, so those claims and the derivative conspiracy claim should not have been submitted to the jury. Because the trial court erred in denying judgment as a matter of law, it also erred in granting ACED a new trial and reinstating its breach-of-contract claim. The court reversed and remanded with instructions to enter judgment as a matter of law for APS and MHCA on the remaining claims.
